Green Building

In our view, Green Building isn't just a movement, it's a responsibility we all share in to keep our footprint on this world as small as possible. Simply put, Green Building is the effort to minimize the environmental impact of creating, maintaining and using structures, no matter how small or big. Jobco's goal is to ensure Green Building, whether it is a home, office or other structure that is built, maintained and repaired, with thought to a healthy indoor environment, maximum energy efficiency and conservative, thoughtful use of natural resources.

Although many companies and cities are only now becoming concerned with the efficiency and environmental performance of their buildings, Jobco has long recognized the many benefits of Green Building. From an Environmental standpoint, biodiversity and ecosystems are enhanced and protected, air and waterquality is improved, waste streams are reduced and natural resources are preserved and restored. Economically, operating costs are reduced, occupant productivity is increased, and life-cycle economic performance is optimized. Socially, occupant comfort and health is enhanced, aesthetic qualities are heightened, the strain on the local infrastructure is minimized and the overall quality of life is improved.

At Jobco, we observe a number of factors during the initial design of all construction projects to ensure that the final structure is a Green building or home, including:

  • Building Design and Development
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Resource Efficiency
  • Indoor/Outdoor Water Use
  • Indoor Environmental Quality
  • Operation and Maintenance
  • Global Impact

In addition, if a "Green Project" is in your plans, Jobco will explore with the project team, state-of-the art means, methods and products that distinguish Green Building from standard construction. These differences include:

  • Building Materials with Little or No Toxicity
  • Recycled Materials and On-Site
  • Recycling Programs
  • Improved Heating, Air Conditioning and Ventilation Systems
  • Low Water Use and Energy Efficient Appliances
  • Energy Efficient Lighting
  • Tankless Water Heaters (where applicable)
  • Dual Flush Toilets
  • Added Insulation
  • Better Glass
  • Separate Water Pipes
  • Green Roofs
  • Drought Resistant Landscapes
  • Minimal Site Disturbance
  • Air and Duct Leakage Tests
  • Thermal Image Testing

Through successful Green Building and energy efficient construction, we are proud to contribute to keeping our environment clean, as well as helping you maximize both the economic and environmental performance of your building.
